The Canvas That Is London

Want a warehouse-style space with retro design touches and unrivalled panoramic views of the city? Welcome to Skyloft.
Recently we were invited to a winter themed, movie showcase at the new offering from the team that brought us Altitude 360. Having previously used Altitude for large dinners, we were intrigued to see what was on offer in the new space.
Skyloft is situated on the 28th floor of the Millbank Tower, in the heart of Westminster. From the outside, it’s an imposing office block so you might wonder if you’re in the right place but once inside the double height, glass-fronted lobby, you’ll begin to think that the interior of the building may be a little more impressive.
Now for the logistics… getting groups up to the 28th floor can present its own challenges but it’s all very do’able (even though one lift was out of order on the night!) and once you’re up there, the view is definitely worth the journey.
Skyloft is a totally different space to the ultra modern, stark white canvas of Altitude 360. The team have created a contemporary loft with recovered wooden floors, exposed brickwork and quirky furniture which all contribute to its British charm. Add to that an impressive sized bar (that you can actually sit at!) together with plenty of LCD screens for branding and you have a perfect combination for informal events. What make this venue really special though is the stunning backdrop of London and its prominent landmarks.
Flexible event space
Whilst we roamed around the space, enjoying a drink and appreciating the 360° views, I started to think about what type of event would work well in the large open space. Meetings, entertaining or a gallery style format would all be possible as ultimately, flexibility can be offered for both large and small groups in a variety of areas in the building.
So, back down to the ground floor (those lifts again!) and into the stylish and ultra modern Media Centre for some warming chilli. Again there is plenty of space here to host a reception or party and, as well as a private entrance, they also have their own bar facilities giving you another self contained space. From there we were ushered into the adjoining screening room, all white walls and black leather, for the winter themed movie. This modern auditorium can seat 300 guests, making it ideal for a conference, meeting or launch especially when combined with the other flexible space in the building. Having a purpose built auditorium is often a help with your event budget as you have AV kit and seating already on site.
This venue has a lot to offer whether you want to host a party for 600 or a conference for 250, there is something here to suit your needs. The big draw though, has to be the fact Skyloft offers such a large space in the sky’s above London. The views are magnificent and combined with the rest of Altitude 360 could be a unique way of experiencing the city.
