The Valparaiso Palace: Palma de Majorca

Palma de Majorca
Been there, done that I hear you say! I don’t think so…
Most event buyers seem to think that their audience know Majorca so well, that the destination itself would not act as a motivator. There’s a whole new generation out there however, who do not know the island, what it has to offer, would enjoy the short flight time, the great climate, the fun and the ever increasing infrastructure.
The capital, Palma, has developed in to a sophisticated city centre on the south side of the island, on a bay famous for its brilliant sunsets.
I revisited a much favoured property from my past – The Valparaiso Palace – high on the hill overlooking the marina and the Bay. Far enough away from the crowds to feel exclusive, but close enough to make going out no effort at all.
What does this venue offer? Wonderful staff, all very proud of their property, just 174 rooms and suites with a private terrace. There are two huge outdoor freeform swimming pools, great meeting facilities (the largest can take up to 450), a surprisingly large state of the art spa and wellness centre. This property also offers a relaxed and totally Mediterranean terrace restaurant and the international Paraiso dining room is bright, spacious and with one of the best buffet breakfasts I have ever experienced (not to mention the pick your own fresh fruit smoothies at breakfast!).
It’s all too easy to get stuck in your ideas and perceptions from a long time ago – however people and places move on!
